This plugin is super powerful! I'm excited to use it further. However, I'm wondering if there's a way to make a custom taxonomy that's a radio button, so the user can only select one?

Along with that, is it possible to not allow new ones to be added? Or would this just be done through user permissions?

What we're doing is creating a form for the user to fill out. And we can just use a custom field, but would prefer that they appear in the right-sidebar by default, and look like the normal categories boxes.

I know I saw another plugin that allowed the radio-buttons in the taxonomies, but it didn't have the powerful custom fields features that Types does.

I just found it! This plugin allows you to make category-like taxonomies into radio buttons so the user can only select one: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ps-taxonomy-expander/

Would be awesome if Types added this functionality.

Looks nice. At the moment, we're pretty set on major features for Types for the upcoming weeks, but we'll see if it's possible to add something like this later.

Okay, cool. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would greatly benefit from this. So I hope you'll consider it seriously.

    Thanks for the response.

So I tried that plugin alongside Types, and it's very friendly: plays well with Types. So if anyone else is looking for single-option taxonomies, just use Types and Taxonomy Expander together.
