   I've spent the best part of an evening trying to use plain text from a custom field as a twitter username.

   Can anyone identify any means to do this?

   Very simply I'd like to input the twitter username as a custom field whilst writing a page and have Twitter Widget Pro use it to display the appropriate tweets on the sidebar.

   Something like this would require that you pull the username from the custom field, use it to create a shortcode like this:

   [twitter-widget username="yourTwitterUsername"]

   Then pass the shortcode through do_shortcode()
