The count for this is sometimes wrong.
When I set this to 3 and don't check "hide @ replies" it shows 3 tweets, but if there is an @ reply and I check "hide @ replies" I now only get 2 tweets. It should show 3 non @ replies (if this makes sense)

I agree that it should, but unfortunately that's not how the Twitter API works. Take a look at the documentation:
    https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1/get/statuses/user_timeline

Specifically look at the exclude_replies parameter.

I can get this to work showing 10 tweets, but any number lass than 10 and nothing shows at all. Seems to be 10 or nothing on my site...

    Any clues?

    Thanks, Hamid

Are they tweets or @ replies?

They are tweets...I waited about an hour and am now getting 5 tweets to show up. Maybe to do with Twitter caching the tweets ie maybe 10 were cached so 5 becomes a new request that may take some time.

Will see if it continues to work! Hope so!
