The plugin works really well for me (at http://www.rondowd.com).
The problem I have is that the "Latest news from Xavisys" widget on the Dashboard prevents all following widgets from displaying, and closes up the dashboard left navigation sidebar.
Anyone have a solution to this? (De-activating the plugin solves the problem.)

Yes, best solution is uninstalling plugin and look for another.
A plugin that install a dashboard widget without asking the user is a shit.
Look for line 320 in xavisys-plugin-framework.php and leave this line like this
public function addDashboardWidgets() {}
