[resolved] [Plugin: Twitter Tools] class-snoopy.php error (5 posts)

When Twitter Tools is activated, I get the following error below pages, posts, and in the dashboard:

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Temporary failure in name resolution in /home/.special/timylee/timylee.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1142

Warning: fsockopen() [function.fsockopen]: unable to connect to twitter.com:80 in /home/.special/timylee/timylee.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1142

Twitter Tool has also stopped updating my tweets since a day ago, and updating version, deactivate/reactivate did not resolve the issue. As well, my plugin dashboard continues to ask me to upgrade some plugins to the most current version despite the fact that I manually upgraded them (don't know if that's related).

Help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You'd get this error when socket connection fails.

I am seeing the same error on one of my site where the server not allowed to make external socket connection.

Contact you host to enable socket connections for your site.

I get this error instead at the bottom of the Dashboard while submitting forms to update options of other plugins:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method Snoopy::submit() in /home/site/public_html/wp-content/plugins/twitter-tools/twitter-tools.php on line 479

    class-snoopy.php is present under /wp-includes/

    Twitter Tools version is 2.1.2

    Please help.
