Been using this plug-in for a bit now and it has been working generally fine. Had a bit of an issue that was resolved server side, but now something else has been coming up.

In the past week the plug-in has been pulling in twitter posts that are nowhere near related to anything in wordpress or the tweet sent out.

Example: post talking about a comic book cover just pulled in 17 comments about the USCup.

Example #2: post talking about Minnesota brought in some twitter spam about a singer in Japan, 20 comments worth.

It is more annoying than anything. I can delete the spam and all of that, but I am wondering why all of the sudden the plug-in is bringing those tweets in when they have nothing to do with any post on the site.

The plugin uses the Twitter API to find all Tweets that link to a given post. Is it possible that the spam comments link to your post?

Also, you may be able to leverage WordPress’s internal spam and blacklist filters to mitigate the problem.
