   I've recently installed the Tweet Blender and it's working just fine. However, as soon as it's done loading the tweets, there's a pop-up window asking for a Twitter API login name and password. I've tried googling this and can't seem to find an answer.

   Thanks in advance for anybodies help. =)

   Hello,
   that means one of your sources is a protected user. If you give me the URL of your site I can tell you which one. In the next feature release of the plugin I'll add a checker in the admin panel so when you save sources it will check to make sure none of them are protected and will show a warning message if it finds any protected ones. For now, you would have to check them yourself.

   I just wanted to add I had the same problem but it was a different thing, it turns out that if you misspell a user name you get pretty much the same result as well, just thought you should know.

   BTW one quick question, after installing the plugin it seems like at every page its interacting with twitter.com using js to refresh the cache, is that really necessary? I mean its creating a lot of stress delaying page loading and also consuming fast the API calls allowed.

   IMHO I think if it actually caches just check if new tweets exist, and or use a time variable for expiration, and only if you invoke the calling page where you will actually render results, if not you will really have a lot of lost bandwidth and performance.

   Sam,
   thanks for your feedback. I'll look into improving caching logic in the next feature release (2.1.0). Right now cache is used only if user reaches connections limit or if Twitter goes down.

   A few notes:

   • All the work with cache is done with AJAX and is asynchronous so it should not delay page loading.
   • Checking if there are new tweets also decreases the number of API calls allowed so it's better to just get all the tweets needed
   • For some blends (e.g. #twitter hashtag blended with #wordpress hashtag) the tweets are very frequent so it made sense to check for new stuff on every page load.

   I'll try to find some logic that would find the right balance. Perhaps I'll add a configuration option for cache use to admin - this will let the blogger decide for how long the cache should be used before Tweet Blender goes and grabs fresh tweets.

   Just automatically upgraded to the latest version of tweetblender and yet again its broken. Back with last weeks error message of:

   "Cannot retrieve Tweet Blender configuration options"

   I upgraded last week to fix that problem now its back. Also tried to leave a comment on your wordpress blog Kirilln but can't log in with my wp login?

   Tweetblender doesn't follow anyone on twitter so you can't direct message them either for a fix which is ironic and retarded in equal measures.

   Anyone know how to fix this problem or know a better Twitter wp plugin?

   Pitchslap, are you at version 2.1.1 right now? Can you give me the url of your site so I can investigate and help you fix it? I'm sure we can work it out.

   My blog doesn't know anything about wordpress accounts and I'm not sure why anyone would expect to login there with wordpress login - it uses RPX plugin and supports gmail logins et al.
