Just found this plugin and tried it out on a test blog. Love it.

But then I installed and activated it on the live site and all I get now is:

“Sorry, we’re having trouble loading this Tumblr…”

But is this s Tumblr problem or a plugin issue ?

I ask because I googled that quote above and there are hundred and hundreds of results returned.

Again I don’t know if it’s because all these people have installed this plugin on their blogs, or again… is it a Tumblr thing…?

I very disappointed now, I thought I found the perfect plugin for what I needed. But now I have to report that it was working for five minutes but is now broken.

First, I’m sorry for the slow reply. This is my only WP plugin, and I didn’t realize wordpress.org created this forum automatically. I will be more responsive in future.

Second, this error usually means Tumblr’s servers are being flaky. They go through periods of instability, and judging from my email there was definitely one a couple weeks ago. I hope the plugin is working better for you now.

    Hello Gabriel !

You are correct, it wasn’t something of your doing. It is Tumblr.
They need to get themselves some better servers.

I offer my unreserved apology for accusing your fine plugin for failing when it wasn’t. It does indeed work fine and I shall mark it as so.

I don’t know if it’s possible, maybe somebody else could offer a solution. But anyway… I had a thought that if a cache could be created so that when the connection to Tumblr fails, the cache is then enabled.

An idea that I don’t know if viable. I’m not an expert. Just a thought.

In conclusion thank you for this excellent plugin. Bravo sir.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, a caching solution had occurred to me. It would be complicated but certainly possible. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot of time to work on unpaid projects right now, so I wouldn’t expect it any time soon …

Of course, if anyone else wants to work on it, feel free!

    gr.
