   Everything works perfect on my localhost, but when updloading to my web directory, using pretty permalinks causes the menus not work alters the layout (background image shifts by a few pixels, div margins are reduced).

   What is causing this error?

   I've tried everything, reinstalled, compared code, nothing seems to be out of place.

   right now the permalinks are set to default.
