   Is there a plugin that would create one page that I can fill with widgets? I'd like a browsing page, one that has widgets for archive, cat, recent comments/posts, pages, etc.

   You could achieve this by creating a widget-capable custom page template.

   Not sure if this has been answered but my plugin Widgets on Pages could be leveraged to do what you want.
