   There used to be this great plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-level-themes/ but it was no longer updated and does not work with the latest wordpress.

   As an alternative there is Theme Test Drive. It sounds great, but it still loads the default /images folder in the default theme folder. With the default I mean the theme that all visitors see.

   Is there anyway to set Theme Test Drive to look at the selected theme /images folder, rather than the default one?

   I found the problem.
   Theme Test Drive cannot work with <?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?> so you need to fill in the full URL of your stylesheet.
