   If you go to Settings ->Theme my login, there is a module called customize 'enable custom user links'. When I activate this, i go to the relevant tab and start adding the user links there for all contributor accounts.

   After I have save the new fields and their URLs, I log in as a contributor but they do not appear in the contributors side widget. Any idea why not?

   Ok I figured it out already. Someone added the '//' remarks in template-functions.php
