The Events Calendar
When I update a posted event the event plugin creates a redirect error (10 posts)

When I update an event I already posted it creates a redirect error and loses the event posting.

This just started on Friday afternoon, I was asked to update this event: http://www.drsha.com/retreat/lph-jan15/ when I did it creates a redirect for that link and sends everyone to this page: http://www.drsha.com/venue/the-maui-spa-and-wellness-center-3/ The page lists Events at this Venue. I'm not sure how to resolve this issue, we are running The Events Calendar 2.0.3.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

Thanks for reporting this, guys. First I've heard of the issue but that's not to say something isn't wrong here. Did this emerge for both of you upon installing 2.0.3? And it wasn't a problem in the previous builds?

We'll work through this with you in hopes of a resolution one way or another...apologies for the inconvenience until then.

I had 2.0.3 installed but rolled back to 2.0.

This appeared to arise after an event was updated (it worked before) and now the URL for the event redirects to the venue page for that event.

I'm still on the free version...

Weird. OK, I just tested this on my end against the 2.0.3 code and it seems to be working fine there...so my guess is that this is related to that 2.0 code. I actually have the post-2.0.3, pre-2.1 code that I've been giving some users if they were willing to give it a shot, see if it fixes things. If so please shoot me a note (Rob at tri.be) and I will get you that.

Rob, the first guy who reported this bug and started the thread was running 2.0.3.

I'll definitely try out pre-2.1 if you can send it my way. (I think you have my email already.)

    Hi Guys,

I was finally able to resolve my issue. I had a plugin called Redirection: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/
installed on my site. When I disabled and deleted out the Redirection plugin I no longer had issues. Although all the old events that I modified still had the weird redirect on them. So it seems like it was a plugin compatibility issue. mrwweb by chance are you using the Redirection plugin (or any other redirect plugin)?

    Tyson. Good find! I am.

I'll have to figure out what's going on there. I take it you just had to recreate the events that had problems?

Woohoo I'm glad that helps out! I did have to recreate the events that I made edits to while I had the Redirection plugin active.

BTW I installed Quick Page/Post Redirection plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/quick-pagepost-redirect-plugin/ and haven't had an issue since!

Tyson: awesome to hear you figured out the conflict here. I've added this to the list of plugins for us to test against as we work towards 2.1. No guarantees we'll be able to make Events Calendar play nicely with everything else out there, but we'll do what we can.

If you guys have any other problems going forward, please let us know.
