The Events Calendar
[resolved] Want Top Menu to Appear (10 posts)

    Hi there,

I have the calendar appearing in a default page template for the Sterling theme from Theme Forrest (Version 1.0.5).
Unfortunately this page shows the calendar, but does not include the top menu items for the page. The white bar appears where the menu text should be, however there are no menu items to click on. I'd prefer that the calendar is featured with the menu items still available for users to navigate the site easily.

Any way I can add some HTML before the calendar to have the menu items appear in the menu above the calendar?

    thanks!

Hey jcdfc. Thanks for the note, and for posting the link to your site. I have a couple hunches as to what could be at play here but right off the bat: can you try enabling permalinks (turning on a structure like /%postname%/) and letting me know if the issue persists? It may be as simple a fix as that which does the trick.

If not, no worries...we can keep trying to troubleshoot this for you.

    Hey Roblagatta,

Enabling permalinks didn't change the menu. Any other options for us to try?

    thanks!

    Hi!

I was just about to say, I was having the same problem as JCDFC above.

But I just frittered around with the events page link.

Before I had this, with no menu:

Now I am using this, with menus!

For me, changing my permalinks and updating my link worked. Thanks!

Cool, that's exactly what we're looking to have happen!

I find that if I change the permalinks and then view the calendar as an event list, *then* as a calendar view, the menu items appear, but when I simply click to view as a calendar as default from the top menu (which we prefer), the menu items do not appear.

Any changes I can make to have the menu appear in the default calendar view?

    Thanks a million :)

Thanks for the assist here, astrolab_jiggy! Appreciate the heads up and I'm sure other users will down the road as well.

Regarding your latest question, jcdfc: this help (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-the-events-calendar-navigation-from-template-get-lost?replies=27)? If I understand correctly, that is related to your same problem and it seems there are a couple solutions in there that could be useful. Let me know if I'm wrong.
