• Interested to buy the pro version so I can have the recurring events feature, but here is my question. Does the pro version has a way to set holidays/closed days. I am asking because all the WP events plugin I tested, the recurring events feature is almost useless and it can’t be used on websites for schools, libraries, municipal buildings/courts etc.. The reason is that they have holidays and the recurring fills the closed day anyway. In other words, on the calendar, instead of mention that the building is closed, actually display an event that was set from the recurring.
Again, does this plugin has a feature to prevent this or at least any workaround. If not, you may consider having this implementation since any other non WP events calendars have this feature.

    Thanks

  • Hey Harrison O. Thanks for your interest in PRO. Happy to answer your question best I can.

If you have a recurrence pattern and want to set a given date as closed or otherwise “holiday”, you’d have to modify that individual event – which would break it out of the recurrence pattern. So while it could still show up on the calendar and would be able to be visually distinguished from the others, if someone went into one instance of the recurrence pattern and viewed the entire list of recurring events in that pattern…the holiday event would not show.

Beyond that, we have had a few requests for a “Holiday” option – so when setting up the recurrence, users can configure specific days that are holidays from the offset – and do have that on our list of features to add before the holidays this year. But beyond that we don’t have any official means beyond what I’ve suggested above.

Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer up more. If you have other questions or need anything more, let me know.
