I recently wanted to switch to this plugin from Events Calendar 3. I temporarily had both installed while I manually copied the event data for each post in my events category, then I disabled the old plugin, leaving just The Events Calendar installed. Unfortunately, it took over my loop — every category, post, and page became either a listing of all events, or “Nothing found”. From looking at the code for these pages, it looks like the plugin’s list.php is being called. I tried switching themes, updating my permalinks, and disabling all plugins but this one, to no avail.

Is there a known conflict in switching from one calendar plugin to another? If not, any idea what caused this problem, or how to fix it?

I am running WP 2.9.1 and The Events Calendar 1.5.6.

I found a similar report here but found the solution here: “The entire plugin depends on the cat name ‘Events’ to function.” I don’t see that this is mentioned in the plugin’s installation documentation, and even though I did have my posts in a category with the slug “events”, the actual category name was “Upcoming Events”. I renamed it, and now the plugin seems to work fine.
