• I set up a top level category for Borough. Then sub categories for: Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, etc. within the Event plugin.

I noticed however that the calendar isn’t respecting the sub-category hierarchy and doesn’t show any breadcrumbs, it just says “back to events” (and goes back to the calendar page).

Also when you click on a subcategory and go the the subcategory page, it doesn’t show the parent category it came from and only shows a link back to the main calendar page.

True breadcrumbs should have the full navigational crumbs from calendar page >> parent category >> subcategory. That way users can sift and sort through events easier and climb back up the tree if they want.

Is there a setting somewhere for this I am missing? Why have sub-categories allowed then if they can’t be used in breadcrumbs?

This is an impressive plugin so far so I am hopeful. Seems to be a simple fix and a great feature for you guys to add before launch.

  • These are definitely valid points. Any chance you can get me a link to your site? Would like to use this as an example for our dev as I file issues making sure we address breadcrumb-related bugs in future releases.
