Is it possible to move custom core files into the Theme folder? e.g:

    theeventscalendar/admin-views/venue-meta-box.php
    theeventscalendar/public/template-tags/google-maps.php

At the moment I can only do this perfectly for the Views, however when updating the plugin it overwrites the core files I may have changed.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hey there lord_dev. At this point the only files you’re able to copy to a new ‘events’ folder in the theme directory (so that modifications won’t be overwritten next time there’s a plugin update) are those listed here: http://tri.be/faq/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/.

This may change down the road but currently these are the only ones we’re set up to handle that way. Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any other questions about this.

    Hi roblagatta

Thanks for your reply and the list of template overrides I can make.

I am currently using the ‘Phone’ field as an input for Longitude/Latitude co-ordinates for Google Maps and using these co-ordinates instead of the Full Address (I need accuracy!). However, every time an update is made it will delete my custom Google Maps co-ordinates and revert back to the Full Address.

As a future request, would it be possible to add a new Longitude/Latitude field in the admin area and a check box saying ‘Tick this box to use the longitude/latitude instead of the address’.

This will be a massive help for some of my websites, and I will gladly make an additional donation!

    Thanks in advance

    Hi lord_dev,

We are looking at implementing this feature in a future release so it’s already on the list!

Let me know if you need anything else here.
