What theme are you using? We'd heard a report of this from a Genesis user and are trying to work through what's causing it now. You on Genesis?

Ah, interesting. What happens if you add this at the bottom of your theme's functions.php file: http://pastie.org/2984003 ?

    Hi,
I'm having this same problem with a custom buddypress theme. Tried adding the filter to functions.php, but no help.
A little de-bugging - it looks like the single event is using the page.php template file instead of the custom event/single.php
I have a custom single.php within event directory in theme files.
Perhaps because this is a child theme? Have had other issues with custom page templates not finding correct page templates within the child theme. Usually able to fix this by using STYLESHEETPATH rather than TEMPLATEPATH, but I don't really want to go mucking around in the core plugin files.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks.

Hey lbrocka. Thanks for the heads up here; you may be on to something here. We've been struggling to figure out why comments aren't displaying, and you are correct that most of the users were on a child theme. I'm going to pass this on to the team to review for our 2.1 release and if it causes any light bulbs to go off over our heads, we'll make sure to get fixed for 2.1.
