I've seen several people looking to accomplish the same thing with no replies - is there a way to make the first x characters of the post content to be the title? I don't want to require users to write in a post title, but unless I do that the title just displays a timestamp.
Any help or a nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.
I have the same issue, I have a system whereby users can copy a post into a new post, to create a multi post book for custom travel itinerary. The problem is users must supply a title, which is the same as the original post content title, so they get 2 titles, or an ugly and useless timestamp.
As a work around I had to remove the original post titles and put them in a widget so they don't get copied. Awkward and time consuming.
I too would really like a more efficient and elegant solution if it's possible.
