I recently was searching for a way to put my sugarcrm into wordpress and accidently installed some other guys’ plugin that scared the crap out of me with a script attack message! And then the guy then tells me that I'm ignorant for not knowing that I needed to just open up his plugin and modify some code to make it work!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I immediately deleted his and tried yours and it worked perfectly!

I also just wanted to say that I’m glad I found your plugin because it looks like it also has some upgrades that I may want to incorporate into my wordpress site in the near future and my question is this – would I have to buy a sugar module for each of my wordpress sites or is it sold as a unlimited sites product?

I’m glad to hear you like our plugin and "Thank You" for the kind remarks!

I was not aware that someone else had even put out a plugin like ours.

I just downloaded his plugin and installed it and I also get the same Script Attack message. I just can’t believe that WordPress would allow someone to put out what does appear to be some sort of revenge ware that, for the most part does exactly what ours does; in fact he even ripped us off with the exact same menu layout and the exact same iframe settings!

It just goes to show how some people can’t even come up with an original thought or idea and so they simply choose to steal from others.

I appreciate the heads up on this and I was planning on making a new release of our plugin this weekend because we have been working on making it also work with the remote sugarcrm cloud hosting accounts etc. but in light of this guys attempts to “rip-off” of our plugin I will go ahead and release our newest version later tonight that will also include a new change to our menu layout so that his will look even worse than it does now when it's compared to the “original” version that he has ripped-off from us.

And to answer your question - our commercial sugarcrm modules work with unlimited wordpress sites so there isn't any need to purchase more than one module.
*Please rate our plugin if you haven’t already – thanks in advance.

Is this other plugin available from the Plugin Repository?

Yes - and I just tried it and it gave the same Script Attack message as reported by "opeska".

And it does appear to be some sort of a ripoff of our entire concept with nothing else new or different to offer.

    Got it! http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sugarcrm-integration/

I'll report this to plugins@wordpress.org on the basis of the Script Attack message. Nothing can be done by any "rip-off", though. That's the downside of GPL, I'm afraid.

On further investigation, the plugin's author has already posted on this issue: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-sugarcrm-integration-solution-for-possible-cross-site-request-forgery

However, I've still asked plugins@wordpress.org to have a look at it - just in case.

Damn - this a$$hole actually posted on our forums with a link to his ripoff plugin! http://sugar.crmformbuilder.com/support/forum/support/free-wordpress-plugin/

I'm now installing vbulletin forums so I can screen for this kind of stuff - I just can't understand why someone thinks they need to steal someone else's stuff like this guy is doing - he didn't even bother to change the menu layout - people like that are never going to be successful because they lack the ability to have an original idea so they just steal everyone else's.

Since your plugin is GPL, the only thing I can suggest is that you push you next version out asap. From a moral & ethical viewpoint, I agree that direct rip-offs without proper attribution are soul-destroying.

Yoast had a similar issue with one of his plugins a little while back. It might be worth reading up on that.

I installed this and it works well. In fact I think I'm going to build a free theme to accompany this plugin that will match the look of WordPress.

Excellent Job on this plugin, it saves me a ton of time for my sales people. Being able to access sugarCRM in their blogs is a major plus.

lol - It appears that he has removed the plugin - at least until he can come up with a way to fix it.

I am just going to sit back and see if he comes out with a new version first before I release my newest version - don't want to show him how to do everything that we're adding into our newest version.

I will however "tell you" what we are adding - we have added the ability to create your own WordPress menu names/links within our config panel so that you can literally build and add in your own menu names/title and then assign/insert the shortcut links for them. Oh - and with drag and drop display order.

This will allow for you to create shortcut links into the WordPress side menu so that you don't have to first open up the sugarcrm dashboard and then find and click on another nav link to get to where you want to go. - This will save a lot of time plus it makes our plugin way more customizable than the ripoff artist who cant come up with an original idea much less program himself out of a paper bag.

Like I said dude, I'm so happy you made this plugin. I have a Real Estate client that wants all their agents to use a single install of SugarCRM and this solution fits the bill.

    Thanks!

Try the new version I just uploaded - and if you have a trial version delete and get yourself a new trial version because we have made some new fixes.

Oh ok - lol - that's hilarious!!! That's NOT even my plugin! that's the RIPOFF guys plugin - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sugarcrm-integration-plugin/ - and yeah its a POS that is as broke as broke can be from the looks of it.
