• I understand that the current Suffusion bbPress Pack (2012-07-25) came out a few days before the latest version of bbPress (2.1.2) was released (2012-08-01), so some new features may not yet be taken into account. We’re a month+ on from that now, however, and I’m curious to know whether the Suffusion bbPress Pack will be receiving some much-needed updates for full compatibility?

For example, the latest bbPress introduced the option to display the Fancy WYSIWYG editor toolbar for post/reply editing. No matter the backend setting for it, the toolbar is absent in the forum when using the Suffusion bbPress Pack. Another example are the AJAX functions, such as when viewing a thread in the forum. In the upper-right corner the “Add this topic to your favorites” and “Subscribe” both do not update from their callbacks, and only reflect the users choice/toggle if the page is manually reloaded.

Thanks for bringing this up. The reason the plugin hasn’t received any updates is because I don’t use bbPress myself. So unless someone points out to me that something is broken or not working as expected, I usually have no clue about it.

I will take a look at the issues you have mentioned and try to resolve them.

    Hi

I notice the bbPress issue with “add topic to favorites” and “subscribe” has been resolved with latest Suffusion update, but the Fancy WP editor is not working.

FYI… I notice that the Fancy WP editor shows with bbPress before the Suffusion bbPress Pack is applied.

The site is http://www.blackfordglen.com, but you can’t see the fancy WP editor unless you are a registered user with editing privileges

    Thank you

I don’t believe there is a problem with the plugin. I have checked and verified that there is no script from the plugin that is included in any admin page other than its own.

I am experiencing the same thing and have tested it on two installations. Both were new installs and I am able to repeat what happens.

    Here’s what I did:
    1. Installed WordPress 3.5.1
    2. Installed Suffusion 4.4.6
    3. Installed bbPress 2.2.4
    4. Created a few sample forums for viewing
    5. Viewed forums under Suffusion — things were ok, the editor toolbar was present.

    6. Created child theme using Suffu-scion
    7. Activated Suffu-scion theme
    8. Viewed forums — still ok, toolbar was still present
    8. Installed Suffusion bbPress Pack 1.0.1, activated, and ran the “(Re)Build bbPress files” button.
    9. Viewed forums again. The forum inherited the look of the Suffusion theme but the editor toolbar disappeared.
    10. Switched back to Suffusion (on which the “(Re)Build bbPress files” button WAS NOT ran)
    11. Viewed forums — editor showed toolbar again.

I also switched to both Twenty-Eleven and Twenty-Twelve themes and both were ok as well. It’s only when I switch to the Suffu-scion theme where Suffusion bbPress Pack 1.0.1 was ran that I keep losing the fancy editor.
