I not 100% sure I understand what you are asking, here is what I think you are saying:

You want to allow people to register on your site in order to post comments but you don’t want them to be able to access their Subscribe2 Profile page for new post notification subscriptions.

If I’m interpreting correctly then elevating the User Role isn’t going to help. To accomplish this you would have to edit the code to stop that link displaying BUT it may also cause the plugin to not email out to people who register if their subscription remains empty as they cannot log in to update it. Also, if they are subscribed and they want to unsubscribe from emails this would also be blocked which may breach privacy laws and would certainly be unpopular with your readers.
