[resolved] Options not saving, emails not sending. (6 posts)

    This plug in used to work on my site, but I've updated both the plugin and WordPress since I last remember it doing its job. I'm now running WP 3.3.2 and Subscribe2 8.3. The site can send administrative emails (comment awaiting moderation, etc.) just fine, but not "new post" ones from Subscribe2.

    One thing I've noticed is that no matter what setting I change in the settings page, once I leave that page and come back, the setting has reverted to the defaults. I'd like to be able to configure the settings, especially since I can't get it to send out notices when a new post is made.

    I have also noticed that there are no rows in the subscribe2 table anymore. I had a few entries in there before I re-installed the plugin. If I'm using users from the site, will there be any users in that table or will it simply use the WP Users table?

    @jdphilli,

    That sounds like a plugin conflict to me - something is stopping the preferences from being saved to the database on your site. Try deactivating other plugins, especially those that cache your content.

    I tried that with no success. As I said, though, it was working before, at least saving the setings was working before. Could I edit the configuration string manually in the database to have it send as me instead of the blog?

    @jdphilli,

    You can try editing the settings manually but it's a serialised array so it'll be difficult. Have you tried hitting the reset button in the Settings page?

    If that fails look in the options table for the option named "subscribe2_options".

    Doing a reset populates the defaults, but that sets an email address of the "blog title" which I think may be my problem sending emails, and a default post ID of a page I'd rather it not land on.

    @jdphilli,

    Apologies, I wasn't very clear, by clicking reset you stand a chance of fixing the issue it may be that the database value has become corrupt and reseting it should resolve that and then allow saves to update correctly. If the value is corrupted database saves don't work but otherwise all will seem apparently fine.
