   Sorry if this was covered. I did a search but couldn't find it.

   Subscribe2 has a field were you can enter a list of email addresses and sign them up. That is very convenient and actually one of the main reasons I was interested in this plugin.

   I just tested it and noticed that (1) the emails I entered automatically had "confirmed" status, which is fine and (2) the recipients did not receive any notice.

   Is that normal?

   Thinking about it, I guess that is fine. It might be nice to send out a "You have been subscribed" notice telling them about the blog. But I guess the post notifications themselves can include a blurb about that. And I can always email them separately to let them know.

   So I guess my question is just, "is this normal or should the recipients have received some sort of notice?"

   If not, for a future upgrade, can I suggest an optional "Welcome" box in Settings with a template to be sent to new users who are subscribed by the the admin.

   @Doug,

   That's normal and expected behaviour. You could put several 1,000 emails in there and click subscribe so sending emails would cause issues for the majority of users in that case.

   A way to send a Welcome Email is not a bad idea, I'll see if I can figure out a way to do that.

   You could even add that as a paid-version feature. :)

   doug@don't mind paying for things, especially when there is a friendly developer who answers questions
