I installed the plugin and tried a test post to test the notification email to one user and it worked fine. Then I added 3 more users to that group and tried it and it failed. Now all attempts at post notification fail regardless of the amount of users.
Oddly enough (or maybe not) the manual (ad-hoc) email feature works fine for any number of subscribers. This is a fine temporary work around, but I would much prefer to use the auto post notification upon publishing a post.
Any help you could give is greatly appreciated.

@greggy284,
This sounds like a "sending email address" issue.
When you are logged in and send a manual email it is sent 'from' the address of the logged in user, as specified at Users-> Your Profile under E-mail address.
When a notification is sent following a post it is sent 'from' the users as specified at Settings->Subscribe2.
I suspect you need to go to the Settings page and change the "Send Email From:" setting to the user name of your account so that emails from the site generated when a post is made come from your address.

I will try that and report back. I am going to try and send from author and see what happens.

I think that worked. Odd that it didn't like my default email sender, but for now we are back in business. Many thanks.

Actually that did not work as it was not the problem. I did some more extensive testing and it appears that emails will not be sent when a post has one or more categories assigned to it. Is there a way to make that work with multiple categories? Every post for my site will normally have multiple categories.
Thanks again,

You can disregard. I made it work by un-excluding categories or checking the box to allow notifications for excluded. That will work for my purposes.
Thanks again,
