[Plugin: Stock Quote Sidebar] Cannot display quote within a page

Hi,
I would like to display a quote for the ^VIX symbol on a WordPress page and inserting <?php get_stock_quote(^VIX); ?> in the HTML editor, but alas nothing shows at all. Is there some step I am missing?
Quotes on the sidebar do work.
