   Deactivating SQLMon is fine, but attempting to delete it from the Plugins folder forces the "white-screen-of-death" ...

   Very sad... would love for that to be fixed somehow...

   This happens when it is unable to remove /wp-content/db.php (due to permission problems).

   As far as I know, there's no way to prevent WordPress from deactivating the plugin if the plugin thinks it is unsafe.

   Please remove /wp-content/db.php file manually.

   BTW - did you delete it from the plugins folder or tried to deactivate it first?

   This has been fixed in 0.5.2 — wp-content/db.php will pass control to wp-includes/wp-db.php if is is unable to include the necessary files (e.g., when the plugin has bee deleted and deactivation failed).
