It’s too bad that this plugin seems to have been abandoned.
It would be great to have the added option of deleting spam instead of writing to database.
Well I suppose if out of 1220 downloads there were at least 20 donations the plugin might still be actively supported. If it were abandoned there would be no update for WordPress latest releases in 2012. So instead of whining go to the donation link pay a small $5 donation then send the author a thank you with your suggestion. Perhaps then you might get a response.
Of course you could always try creating the plugin your self and see exactly what efforts are required to produce the result. Then submit it here, have 1200 people download it only to find no good comments or donations. See if you think you should go unrewarded.
Thank you Tobias for at least updating the plugin this year and keeping it useable between releases of WordPress. If after using it the plugin prevents Spam from accumulating I will definitely make a donation. I have been watching the HoneyPot project for a number of years and support their efforts to expand a community of users.
