   IMHO simply because it does NOT use jquery or any other fancy script. ajax scripts add a large overhead to the page and for what? Just to see the icons glow when you hover! Real users just want to get to the bookmark page and do their stuff.

   This plugin does just that, simply easily and without fuss. Many thanks for getting it right.

   You may want to try the Social Bookmarks plugin (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/social-bookmarks/) as this is a simply copy cat.
