I didn't see any documentation for the shortcode other than saying that you can give the option of the user ID. Is there more you can do with the shortcode? It would be nice if you could fill out all the information used in the box, like:

    [social-bio name="Joe Smith" desc="Pioneer in short-code writing style." web="http://www.joesmith.com/" facebook="http://www.facebook.com/joesmith" twitter="http://twitter.com/joesmith"]

    Something like that.

Also, I think it would be useful to be able to create a library of bios for use on the site. For example, if I have 5 guest authors, I create 5 bios with name, desc, social links, etc. and instead of saying [social-bio id=xxx] for social bios which draw their info from the user profile, you could say [social-bio lib=xxx] for a user drawn from the library of profiles.

If you could track all the articles linked to that author profile and be able to display the number of articles linked to that person, and list them when the user clicks on the button, even better.

The only two forms that the short code currently accepts is:

    [social-bio]
This displays the social bio of the author of the post/page.

    and

    [social-bio id=xxx]
This displays the social bio of the specified id.

I'll update the documentation to make this more clear.

While what you are asking is certainly possible I'm not sure how many would benefit from such an implementation.

What you have described is handled by having the authors be users. You could create place-holder authors, even if they never logon the user accounts would represent your library.

The idea of being able to specify attributes, to override the default values, does sound interesting and I certainly will keep it in mind for a future revision.

Thank you so much for your interest!

    Nick
