   How do I stop sociable showing up in my post excerpts.

   I display excerpts of recent posts in a sidebar.

   I don't want the sociable links in those excerpts

   For this reason I put only the_title in the sidebar.

   Does this mean it is not possible to remove it from the excerpt?

   Our main pages uses excerpts taken from the database, so I need the blog to match
