HI - I'm obviously missing the elephant in the room...but where is the settings page? I've installed Sociable but can't find the settings page to set up my networks. Help?!

You can get to the settings by going to the Plugins dashboard and navigating down to Sociable plugin. There's a Settings link in the "Deactivate / Edit / Delete" section.

    Or you can navigate to

    http://wpsite/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=Sociable

if you want to get there manually.

That link give me this error:

You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.

Also, on the Plugins dashboard there is no Settings link for my Plugin. I did pay for and download the Pro version.

I think I see my problem -- I'm using "Sociable" version 3.5.2 from http://blogplay.com/plugin when I thought I was using the new one. Sorry about that!

If I install the new one and find it I'll let you know.

Just as a follow up - I ended up ditching this plugin because I wasn't able to figure out how to suppress it's display on excerpts and sidebar... I wanted a little more control over where it displayed. I'm now testing and playing with WP Socializer.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks. Have you tried Digg Digg?

Nope, but just installed and played with it some. Out of the box, seems cool, but seems to suffer from same problem - I don't want the social icons displayed when I display excerpts (from the_excerpt() call). This Digg Digg plugin had a checkbox about excerp (sic) but it doesn't seem to help either way.

For my own purposes, all I want is

    Facebook (like/share)
    Twitter
    PDF/Print
    Email

So I'm sure one of these will do the trick for me.

I use Sexy Bookmarks on one of my blogs. I like it specifically for the Print and Email

I just found Digg Digg's manual content feature, so this will work nicely. I can just call the functions straight from my theme's page.php/index.php and have total control. Thanx for the tip! I'll try out the other plugin for print/email.
