[resolved] How to add a "Read More" link? (2 posts)

    Hi Seth,

    Thanks for the work on this plugin. I have it installed and it is displaying the first 25 or 30 words of my sticky post, and then a "..." . Wondering if its possible to easily add a link to the post after the "..."

    Appreciate any advice.

    I don't want to overcomplicate the options of the plugin, but I did add in a new filter for modifying the output of the "..."

    $readmore_text = apply_filters('wp_widget_smsticky_readmore_text', '...');

    from a themes (or hopefully child themes) functions.php you simply add a filter like so:

    add_filter('wp_widget_smsticky_readmore_text', 'my_readmore_text_function');
    function my_readmore_text_function($args=array()){
        return '<br><span class="readmore">Read More</span>';
    }

    If you wanted to add the permalink you need to call "the_permalink" in the php. If you don't understand the process behind this I might suggest you hire a professional developer to help you through the customization.
