Thank you for creating such a fantastic feature! I am excited to use it on my WP site, but need some guidance through some issues I am facing.

I have just updated my wordpress to the 3.4.2 version. I created a slideshow (activating it as a widget). I have a couple of questions.

1)The images look grainy and are VERY slow to load. The first images I uploaded were 100 dpi resolution. Disappointed with their quality, I uploaded new versions with 400 dpi resolution. Still no improvement. Is the larger resolution creating the delay? Also, how can I improve the image quality so they don't look grainy?

    2) I would like to place the slideshow directly under my header, but don't know how to do this as a widget. Is there another way I can position it? I do not know how to use code, so feel a bit stuck.

    I would appreciate any help/suggestions.
    Thank you,
    Christi

    Hi Christi,

For the answer to your first question I'd like to refer you to this article. Described in this article is explained how DPI and image resolution is not the same, and why increasing the DPI just slows down your website.

Also, a slideshow with a lot of images will load slowly because all images will be loaded at the same time. Loading efficiency will be improved in version 2.3.0.

Lastly, the load speed of images may be limited by your website's hosting company, or a slow internet connection. Expanding your hosting package can perhaps be the solution if you do have a lot of images per page.

To answer your second question: If you want to use the slideshow outside the widget area and outside of posts and pages, you'll need to use the PHP code provided by the slideshow indeed. I can probably give you some advice on where to place the piece of code if I could have a look at your website.

    Best regards,
    Stefan
