   I've tried changing the order the images are listed in the post, but this won't change.

   What exactly controls the order images are pulled into the slideshow fader?

   If you go into the 'Gallery(8)' area of the Media section for a post or page that is where you can drag images up and down to affect their order. this is also how it works with Satellite the most current edition of the plugin you're talking about.
