    Hi everybody,
I probably am missing something, but I can't find the Publish button. Beneath the questions that I created there only is a Preview button.
    Where is the Publish button?

Push Preview and the PUBLISH button will magically appear.

    Hey Johanna,

The "Publish" button can be found on the Preview window. You may need to enable popups for your website's domain. Or perhaps the Preview window is just behind your main browser window.

Edit your quiz => click the "Preview" button => Preview window will pop up => click "Publish" on that Preview window.

    Hi jewlofthelotus,

I cannot see the "Publish" button. I have used the plugin on Chrome, Firefox, IE8. I do see the preview, but cannot find "Publish" button.

    Please help!

    Hi Shaildeogram

The "Publish" button can be found on the Preview window that pops up after you click the "Preview" button. You may need to enable popups for your website's domain. Or perhaps the Preview window is just hiding behind your main browser window.

Edit your quiz => click the "Preview" button => Preview window will pop up => click "Publish" on that Preview window.

If you need to allow popups, each browser does it a bit differently - so I'd suggest just googling "allow popups in [your browser here]"

    Hi jewlofthelotus,

Thanks a ton. I "allowed" pop-ups and clicked on Preview button where I created the questionnaire. Thanks again. :)

    Hi jewlofthelotus,

Sorry to bother you again. I found that if I don't click on any of the options and just click on next button, the system treats it as wrong answer. I guess the "Next" button should be disabled if the option(s) is not selected.

    What you'd say?

@shaildeogam: Yeah, no selected answers currently equate to a wrong answer.

I've actually gotten 2 requests today alone to add the option to make the "Next" button disabled until an answer is selected, so I will likely be adding that in the very near future - perhaps by the end of the day if I have a chance, if not hopefully by the end of the week.

Hi @shaildeogam - This change has been added, there is now an option to disable the "Next" button if no answers are selected.

Grab the newest update - 1.0.15 - for the change!

One more thing. Is it possible if I can randomise only questions not the answers? Some of my answers have options - Only (A), (A) and (C) only. If I randomise the answers, user might select the wrong answer.

I think there should be an option to randomise both (questions and answers), only Questions or only answers.

Thanks for the feedback @shaildeogam - that makes sense. I'll see about getting that added in for you. Will post again when there's an update.

Any plans to add score keeping and statistics posting on the website? It would be great to have a sidebar widget with the ten latest or top-ten scores.

Hi @TE5LA - that sort of feature is on the list of things to add. It is pretty high priority, so hopefully I'll have the time to get that out in the near future.

@ jewloftthelotus - Thanks. I'm finding the quiz a bit slow to set up. First of all, when you collapse questions, they all open again when you reopen the list. This makes it tedious to keep collapsing the list. Also, it is a chore to keep entering a "correct" and "incorrect" response for every single question. It would be be better if you used a standard graphic of some kind to indicate "correct" and "incorrect" and just have an optional text box for entering an answer explanation, if desired. It's a lot of work creating questions and this would speed things up considerably, IMO.

An example of my last post:
    ------------------------------------------
Question: What is the capital of Zimbabwe?

    Answers:

    C - Harare
    I - Mutare
    I - Bindura
    I - Gwanda

Explanation (optional): Harare is situated at an elevation of 1483 metres (4865 feet) and its climate falls into the warm temperate category.
    ------------------------------------------------------------

A check box by the answers would be best, to select the correct one. Being able to automatically randomize them would help because you wouldn't have to worry about position.

It should also be possible to have more than one correct answer. A person might have to select two correct answers to correctly answer a question.

@TE5LA - I will have to consider your first suggestion more. I set up the quiz as it is now to allow for a lot of flexibility in presentation. For example, with the response messages - the implementor could include a standard correct / incorrect image and a custom explanation as to why they were right or wrong.

As for the collapsing of questions, that is not a setting that get's stored for the user right now, but I could see how it would be valuable. It's unlikely that I'd store this setting in the database, but I could try to set it up to save it's state in browser storage. The only downside with that is that the setting would occasionally get cleared out if it expired or you were to clear cookies.

Lastly, there is currently an option in the SlickQuiz Options settings to randomly sort questions and answers. I am also in the process of adding options to randomly sort ONLY questions and ONLY answers.

Also, it is possible to have more than one correct answer. If you select multiple answers as correct in the setup process, the user will see checkboxes when they get the question. If you only select a single answer in setup, the user will instead see radio buttons.

It is flexible but perhaps as an option you could have a setting for fixed entries for correct/incorrect answers. Something like:

    [ ] Enter default 'Correct' Message ____________________________
    [ ] Enter default 'Incorrect' Message __________________________

This could be an option in each quiz so one would not have to enter the same thing over and over.

@TE5LA - Thanks for the feedback. I can see how that would be useful. Do you think it might make more sense as part of the SlickQuiz Options page? So that they'd be defaults for all quizzes you make?

    @ jewlofthelotus

That was my first thought, but then I wondered if that might limit things unnecessarily. Maybe people might want a different set of fixed responses with different quizzes. Setting it as an option in each quiz allows them more flexibility.

I don't recall if you have options for each quiz, but it might be something to think about.

I love this plug in!!! But, I'm not getting a publish button either - and I don't know how to disable pop-ups on the dashboard. I've been trying to publish by coping the link thing (x=2) etc... and I just get that the quiz has been disabled. Can someone please help me? I've made a beautiful quiz and I can't get it up!!!

Hi @MegDuggan - The Publish button is on the Preview popup that comes up from the Edit page - here's how you'd get to it:

Edit your quiz => click the "Preview" button => Preview window will pop up => click "Publish" on that Preview window.

If you need to allow popups, each browser does it a bit differently - so I'd suggest just googling "allow popups in [your browser here]"

You should also make sure you have the newest version of the plugin (1.0.18), as a bugfix was recently pushed that fixed an issue with the Preview popup not showing up.

Let me know if any of that works!

Yes, make sure you disable Adblock Plus if you're using it. It prevents the publish page from loading, even if you'd added the url as an exception.
