   Function: provides a realtime indicator of the user's Skype status, online, offline, do not disturb... with the option to call, if online or Skype me. Invisible shows as offline.

   Method: the query is made directly to Skype, cutting out any 3rd party servers. The returned XML is fully parsed using a standard XML to array function, not relying on local PHP modules.

   You'll require a WordPress theme with support for widgets, and the widgets plug-in already installed. The code has not yet been tested across a variety of systems, and therefore should be considered beta.

   The icons supplied by Skype (which they are quite insistent be used at all times) are transparent pngs, which IE6 doesn't render correctly - the widget uses transparent gifs by default, which will show best on a white background. If you use a non-white sidebar you may have to edit these images.

   Is there any way of taking the name off the display when it says offline?

   - if you don't want your skypename showing, then there's not much purpose in displaying the plugin...
