Michael,
I've seen your updates saying that WP doesn't let you add a link to templates on the Network Admin page... shame, but nothing you can do about that.
Is there a way to apply a template to a site after it has been created? This could be done destructively (for my own purposes) and would allow me to apply a template to a site that I, as the network admin, created.
Is that something that you would consider putting in?

I've made my own modifications to the plugin so that a template can be defined as the 'default' and, as such, is applied to all new sites. Since I'm the only one who is adding sites, this works for me.

I was looking for something that would allow a user to change to a different template AFTER creating their site (and choosing a different template)
If this is what you were able to do (assuming I have understood correctly) would you be able to share how you did it?

No, I created a modification to apply a template, automatically, at the point of site creation.
Applying a template to a site after it has been created is tricky because of the way this plugin defines a 'template'. A template is a set of posts and pages, as well as themes and plugins. Therefore, you'd need to modify the code to allow users to decide which parts of the template would be applied.
I don't need that, so I haven't written that.

Dan, I would be interested in your mod. I only need one template and I'm the only one creating new sites so it sounds like I'm looking precisely for what you did here.
