    hi,
    I tried installing the plugin with ssl login. It is not work. It does not seem to be able to authenticate, and there is no error returned. It just close the modal windows and refreshes the page.

    However, once I remove the SSL login. It works fine. Is there any way to make the modal login work with SSL?

    Thanks

    I'll have to set up an ssl site to test with, so it may be a bit before I can look into this.

    Any progress with this? I've had to migrate to SSL due to the ease of cookie-based hacking now. Enabling SSL via FORCE_ADMIN effectively causes SimpleModal Login to just show a spinning graphic and not actually login. Would love to know how to fix this!

    jpleas - nope, sorry. Do you have a link I can view? Any chance you've been able to determine anything as to why it is not working?

    The only way for this to work is for the simplemodal-login to be called on a page that is https . Any regular http pages and this plugin just sits there.

    Eric,

    I have already changed { site_url('wp-login.php........ } to { __('https://my_site_url.com/wp-login.php........ } in simplemodal-login.php and it works on secure pages only. Is there a way to redirect to the https version of that page at the same time that the simplemodal jquery loads and then redirect to non-ssl version after login is complete.

    @pcsurgeon - Have you tried: http://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Over_SSL#To_Force_SSL_Logins

    Please let me know if that works.

    I'm having the same issue as pcsurgeon, and I have forced SLL logins via wp-config.php. If I try logging in via simplemodal from a non-HTTPS page, it will just sit.
