   If I don't type anything into the "excerpt" box, it assumes my excerpt is "" instead of letting wordpress or my theme decide what the actual excerpt is. Are you able to add a statement saying
   "if excerpt is blank then don't save an excerpt" or something?

   Otherwise, what's a workaround?
