I just installed simple page specific sidebars and initially found it in my widgets and created the custom sidebars for each page but they didn’t show up when I view the page. This morning I was prompted to update simple page specific sidebars and now the widget does not appear in my list of widgets and the sidebars still don’t show up when viewing the page.

    Hi szoliver,

Thanks for the question. We’re looking into this, but in the meantime, can you tell me what theme are you using currently?

There isn’t a widget created by this plugin; it simply creates widget areas for each page on which you enable it.

    Hi szoliver,

Okay, I’ve looked through and tested and it seems to be working just fine.

Again, you won’t find a widget for this plugin; it just creates widget areas.

The sometimes-challenging thing to getting it working on your site is to figure out what ID your theme is using for its primary sidebar.

If you haven’t tried it, please check out the following post, which illustrates how to find the ID. Holler if you have troubles.

    Hi VeljkoPutnik.KG,

In the future, please add a new support topic if you have a different question.

The answer to your question is right on the plugin’s main page:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/page-specific-sidebars/

Page Specific Sidebars adds a checkbox to every page allowing you to choose which pages should have a unique sidebar.

Once you enable a page-specific sidebar in the page editor, a widget area will automatically be created for that page and you can customize it as you like.

You can also specify whether the plugin replaces your generic sidebar with the page-specific sidebar, or simply adds your page-specific sidebar on to the existing sidebar.

    I hope that helps,
    Eric

Sorry, I will do that in the future. I have just one more question. How to enable a page-specific sidebar? I have one on the right side of page. And I want to add one on the left. But I do not know how. 🙁 Can you give me code that will help me? Or something like that?

    Hi VeljkoPutnik.KG,

So, I think you’re asking if you can have more than one “Page Specific Sidebar” per page, and right now the answer is ‘no’; not through our plugin.

You can add a page-specific sidebar above or below your existing sidebar (append/prepend), but we don’t have the option of creating multiple widget areas per page.

So, what do you do? If you want to have a persistent sidebar on the left of your site, you’ll probably need to create another sidebar in your theme. Then, once it’s widget-enabled, you’ll be able to place widgets in that sidebar.

Here’s a post that should set you on the right track:
