   I posted this onto the end of another thread so i'm sorry if you've read the question already:

   Are there any plugins in existance that allow file upload and insertion of the image url into the value field of a custom field? or something similar for conveniently adding images to custom fields. Integrated upload function would be great, but isnt essential; a way to browse pre-uploaded images and insert their urls into the custom fields on selection would do the job too.

   I know there are simple workarounds, but im looking for a way to provide my (non technical) clients with a foolproof way of adding images to custom fields.. for page design reasons i'd prefer images to be added to custom fields rather than being embedded in the post body.

   Why don't you use an aside then?

   because i'd want each image i add to appear 'with' the post i was entering at the time.

   If i add images to an 'asides' category, the images wouldn't be able to be associated with the posts i made. (if i understand the idea of 'asides' properly).

   What id like to achieve is a rectangular image 'area' that appears next to each post. If the post has an image attached, the image will appear in that area. Otherwise the area will be left blank (or a placehgolder image will show).

   I use the Get Custom Fields plugin works great for that or similar:

   You can add the url into the template and just type in image name to the field as well.
