They are actually added, but as “hidden” (ref: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_post_meta#Making_a_.22Hidden.22_Custom_Field).
After you have saved a post you can click the “Show custom field keys”-link that should be available in the right column of your edit post page. You can then use for example http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_post_meta to get the value for a specifik field.

I was so happy I finally stumbled upon your PlugIn – it looked perfect.
Just what I need.
So – I spent the last 4 hours in trial and error experiments because I can’t figure out how to call the custom fields in my post template.
I tried every tag from the codex, nothing shows up. I read every line on your website. No answer.
Will you, please, tell me: How do I call the custom-fields?
(Maybe its a weird idea, but I would like to display on the frontend what I entered in the backend.)
