Simple Facebook Share Button
[resolved] Not Compatible with SSL (3 posts)

    Hello,

If a site uses SSL, this plugin throws errors about loading non-secure content. Several URLs, including http://www.connect.facebook.com/widgets/fan.php.... and http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/..., should automatically detect if the site is using SSL and then use https:// instead of http://.

    Raam,

There doesn't appear to be anything I can do to resolve this problem. Facebook deprecated the Share API some time ago and no longer supports it.

Making a secure request for the Share API scripts (try https://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Loader) triggers a browser security block because the SSL certificate on the CDN is for Akamai, not Facebook. Unfortunately, most browsers don't prompt the use to load the script anyway, meaning the buttons simply don't appear.
