You have the wrong URL set up in the Facebook Application.

Would be super helpful to know exactly where to identify the “correct” URL. I am trying to hook up to an existing page. The instructions are not clear as it seems to be assuming you are starting with a new page.

The correct URL is that of your site. The URL must be exactly correct though. Caps matters. Use of www or lack thereof matters.

As for hooking up the “existing page”, that’s irrelevant to this bit. The Page is a separate thing from the Application. The Application is what lets your site connect to Facebook. What Page it connects to for publishing and such comes later.

This site’s URL is http://wordpress.org/. It’s not “www.wordpress.org”, because there’s no “www” in the URL bar in your browser. See? That actually does matter.

I am having the same error and I am not sure where to enter the correct URL. The URL of my blog is http://linemg.com/wordpress/

Do I enter it in Facebook? If so, where do I enter it?

Or, do I enter it in WordPress? If so, where?

I have WP installed on my GoDaddy server. I also have another blog that I set up six months ago (not hosted on GoDaddy, but through WP), and it was no big deal to connect it to Facebook Now it’s taken me two hours and I am frustrated as all get out!

    HELP!!!!

    On your Facebook Application.

    Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps.

Select the Application you made. Make sure the Site URL is *exactly* correct.

Note that another possible cause for this error is using some other FB-related plugin. Multiple FB plugins will interfere with each other, which is why I tried to make SFC an all-in-one kind of thing. Disable any other plugins that have FB related functionality.

    Thanks. Does that include Jetpack?

    Does that include Jetpack?

The ShareDaddy Facebook share button which is in Jetpack is completely incompatible with SFC and every other Facebook plugin, yes. Trying to use it will cause all Facebook functionality to not render on the site.

However, Jetpack doesn’t include the code for the FB button unless you actually try to use it, so Jetpack itself will still work as long as you don’t add the FB share button to the sharedaddy settings.
