[resolved] Which widget to show FB posts? (7 posts)

Like many WP developers I am confused with Facebook terminology. I am using SFC, and want to show all the status updates of a Facebook user. Not their Facebook friends, just what has been posted by one Facebook user. I have my Facebook App setup, now I just need to drag the correct WP SFC widget to a sidebar area. Which widget do I use?

In other words, I am trying to display a Facebook user's wall posts/updates verses a FB page's posts. Is this possible? or are user updates always private and only for logged-in FB friends?

The FB Status widget should show up in the widget list. But it can't be just some random user's status, it has to be *your* status. Because you have to grant it permissions, basically.

Also, it only shows the latest status, not all of them.

Thanx Otto... I am impressed with the SFC plugin very well done. I did succeed in getting the FB Status widget to work with granted permissions. I was hoping for a Status widget parameter field to enter the desired number of status updates to be displayed. Facebook user walls seem to be a very elusive social network plugin to find, possibly per Facebook privacy terms.

    Also.....
re: Facebook User Profile Number for Status widget
Seems like Facebook is trying conceal this ID number as much as possible. Difficult to find. If you have a concrete method for retrieving it. Those instructions would be beneficial in the SFC plugin settings panel.

There's a Facebook Connect button right in the widget. Click it. It will populate the user ID number for you.

Or it should. I admit that recent FB changes may have made this broken.

Oh.... I thought the ID was required and then you clicked the Facebook button to grant permissions. No idea it would fetch the ID.
FYI... it did fetch a number but the widget is not finding any user status updates.
