Count FB comments along with real comments (6 posts)

    I've got two questions:

    1) Your plugin doubles the number of shareboxes of the Addthis plugin. Can this be solved?
    2) Is it possible to count the Facebook comments along with the real comments?

I've read and agree with the post below, but it seems strange in the lay-out not to count them.

Further on, this plugin works like a charm and it's running great on our website!

    1. That would be a bug in AddThis. I suggest emailing Jorbin about it.

    2. Yes, and the plugin does in fact do exactly that, if your theme is displaying the comments count correctly.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I'm using the original comment counting from the twentyten theme, but it still doesn't work for me. The plugin does show the Facebook-comments in the template, but just counts the comments posted on the website.

For example: if there are 3 Facebook-comments and 1 normal comment on a post, it just shows '1 comment' in the template (on the index page). On the single page it does show the correct number of replies, FB-comments included.

Note: 'reactie' means 'comment' in dutch, but that seems kind of obvious ;-).

Any idea what might be wrong?

The count on the index page will not reflect the FB comments because the comments are not displayed there, and it didn't make sense to me to load them into memory for however many posts are on the index pages, just in order to count them.

This is a speed enhancement, basically.

But if I do want to add this function, is there any way to make it work?

Not currently. Next version may change things.
