The deletion of a plugin has nothing to do with the plugin itself, it has to do with the configuration of your site.

In other words, a plugin cannot stop you from deleting itself. It doesn’t work that way.

If you want to remove the plugin, but delete doesn’t work for you, then remove it manually using FTP.

Note: You should really only have to delete the base plugin using the plugin manager. That will remove the whole thing, sub-plugins and all.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I thought that deletion of a plugin was related to the plugin, as I have deleted other plugins and not received any error messages. All via the plugin manager.

The directory is gone according to an FTP listing but are there still some files lying around somewhere that I need to delete? If not, then why did I get that error message? Sorry for the lack of expertise.

Because this is a multiple-plugin plugin, when you delete one of them, you delete all of them.

If you selected all of them and told it to delete them, then it would deleted all of them at once on the first plugin, then wouldn’t have found the rest of them there when it tried to mass delete the rest. Thus the error message.

It’s not actually a problem, it’s just a consequence of the way WordPress works. Basically, this is a WordPress design issue, it’s not really equipped to handle multi-plugins well as yet.

If the directory is gone, then the plugin is gone and you’re all good.
