Hi Steve,
Would it be possible to use this plugin with multiple event post types? Say I had several post types as follows: 'news_event', 'press_event'. etc.
How could we use this plugin with multiple CPTs? I'm guessing a simple foreach loop might not be particularly efficient?
What do you think?

A good idea, seems pretty easy to add - but I've not got much time for proper testing.
I've made the changes and created a branch for it on GitHub:
https://github.com/gyrus/Simple-Events/tree/multiple-post-types
Give that a go if you want. I may not release it as a new version until I've found time to test it myself, but do let me know how it works for you! Raise any issues on GitHub :)
